The Crieff Cloverleaf Tartan

Meet the Crieff Cloverleaf Tartan

We have our own tartan! With great generosity, world-renowned tartan expert Brian Wilton of Tartan Ambassador has gifted us this cracking design. It’s now officially registered as Tartan #13963 at the Scottish Register of Tartans.

About the design

The Crieff Cloverleaf Tartan is inspired by the Royal Stuart Tartan, associated with Bonnie Prince Charlie who stayed in Crieff on his way to the famous battle of Culloden.

The tartan features dark stripes with a white central line, representing the crossroads of Crieff and our Cloverleaf routes.  These “roads” are bordered by yellow and green lines running vertically, representing the North and South routes, and orange and red lines running horizontally, representing the West and East routes.

The mid-blue blue and white details are inspired by the Saltire, Scotland’s national flag, and the tartan uses our own favourite dark blue as a base.
