Stunning shorter routes
For riders who prefer to explore Crieff Cloverleaf shorter routes of less than 120 miles/4 hours’ riding time, please enjoy our special Little Leaf route suggestions below.
Just like the main Crieff Cloverleaf routes, these loops all start and finish in Crieff. They also feature equally amazing biking roads and scenery!
Little Leaf navigation
We don’t provide downloadable GPX files for the Little Leaf routes, but we do provide a Google MyMap for each one, to help you plan your route using your favourite navigation method.
Use the “View on map” buttons below to see each suggested route on an individual interactive map.
#1 - Glen Lyon
Rider highlights of the Glen Lyon route include:
- The biker-beloved Sma’ Glen run from Crieff to Aberfeldy
- Beautiful and remote Glen Lyon – watch out for wild deer!
- A rollercoaster hillclimb, and descent via Ben Lawers Nature Reserve
- The famous twisties along the north shore of Loch Earn (W→E)
The red section shown on the map is an adventurous alternative we like to call the Hairy Hairpins. This elevated route has incredible views, but the tarmac road is extremely narrow and has some very sharp and steep hairpin bends. Be aware that rescue vehicles can have a hard time reaching you on this section.
Recommended direction: Anti-clockwise
Reversible route: Yes
#2 - Duke's Pass
Rider highlights of the Duke’s Pass route include:
- The famous twisties along the north shore of Loch Earn (E→W)
- Beautiful shoreline roads on Stirlingshire’s stunning lochs
- The famous Duke’s Pass – bend after bend after bend!
- The Langside run, with fabulous views as you descend to Comrie
This one’s a shortie – if you fancy extending it, turn right when you get down to Aberfoyle, follow the B829 to Loch Arklet, then turn left and ride on down to Inversnaid for fantastic views across Loch Lomond to the Arrochar Alps. Come back up the same way, and continue on the original route via Aberfoyle.
Recommended direction: Anti-clockwise
Reversible route: Yes
#3 - Perthshire Lochs
Rider highlights of the Perthshire Lochs route include:
- The high moors run from Braes of Foss to Kinloch Rannoch
- Great views of Perthshire’s iconic Schiehallion mountain
- Spectacular lochside scenery on the south side of Loch Tummel
- The tranquil riverside run from Strathtay to Weem
This route features some long stretches on winding and narrow minor roads. Watch out for oncoming traffic and inattentive tourists!
The Hairy Hairpins alternative (see Little Leaf #1) can also be followed on this route.
Recommended direction: Clockwise
Reversible route: Yes
#4 - Dunkeld Doodle
Rider highlights of the Dunkeld Doodle route include:
- The fabulously fun moors road from Moulin to Kirkmichael
- Glorious green farm and forest scenery on the Butterstone section
- The delicious foodie shops of picturesque Dunkeld
- The twisty, tree-lined avenues of secluded Glen Almond
The stretch from Blairgowrie to Dunkeld has several 20mph zones where you’re passing through small villages. Please help us maintain local goodwill towards motorcyclists by travelling respectfully – even if most car drivers don’t!
Recommended direction: Clockwise
Reversible route: Not completely (asymmetric A9 junctions)
