Meet Roddy Benzies
Roddy is one of only a very few Advanced Motorcycle Trainers in the U.K. qualified to teach the Police Advanced Motorcycling Techniques to all motorcyclists. His background includes five years as a Police Advanced driving and motorcycling instructor at the Scottish Police College.
Your training
As a highly experienced Police Advanced instructor, Roddy can assess your riding ability on a variety of roads and give advice and riding tips as necessary.
Using the Police System, he’ll train you to be in the correct position, travelling at the correct speed and in the correct gear for any situation that presents itself on the road.
In a training session, Roddy will also demonstrate the Police System of motorcycling with full commentary using high quality communications. He’ll show you what he’s looking at, how far ahead he sees it, what his plan is in relation to his views and the benefits gained by the actions he takes. In our experience, this can be eye-opening even for seasoned IAM- or RoSPA-trained riders!

With his Get2Grips program, Roddy offers a range of courses on a one-to-one or one-to-two basis (so you can train with your mate if you like!) He caters to every level of riding experience from novice to advanced, and can even assess you for the DVSA Enhanced Rider Scheme.
